GRiT
(Girls Riding Together)
(Girls Riding Together)
GRiT (Girls Riding Together) is a NICA initiative designed to encourage #moregirlsonbikes in a fun, non-competitive, and inclusive manner. GRiT seeks to not only grow each year in the number of female student athletes, but also in the number of female coaches.
Our LRSMTB teams collaborate to organize female-only GRiT activites & events throughout the season, fostering connections both on and off the bike while enhancing and developing cycling skills. We love to laugh, eat ice cream, try new things, work on bike skills with just girls and ride our bikes to fun places. You will find GRiT student athletes and coaches at NICA races, practices, hangouts, or even just around town. GRiT is more than riding bikes, it is also a way for us to support our female student athletes and coaches.
The LRSMTB GRiT Coach Coordinators are Angela Paulson (Capital City Cranks) and Lori Hunt (Mount St. Mary Academy). We have several GRiT student athletes from 5th through 12th grades and coaches.
